Nicaragua Cacao: Features, Types, and Management
Cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) is a tropical crop grown mainly between 10° north and 10° south of the equator. Its seeds are used principally to produce chocolate and fats for food and cosmetic products. The species belongs to the genus Theobroma in the Malvaceae family, originated in South America, and was domesticated in Mesoamerica.
Traditional cacao types

Cacao Growing Conditions in Nicaragua
