Coffee Cherry Tea: Roasted and Spice Scented

This coffee cherry tea, also known as cascara or Hashara, is made from the dried skins of ripe red coffee cherries produced through the natural, unwashed process. The skins are roasted, ground and blended with cardamom, nutmeg and cloves.
Flavor profile
The infusion has flavor notes reminiscent of orange peel, hibiscus, peach juice, grapefruit, honey and lemon.
Hot preparation
- Use 10 grams (0.35 ounces) of the coffee cherry and spice blend.
- Add 200 milliliters (7 fluid ounces) of water at approximately 96°C (205°F).
- Cover and steep for 6 minutes.
- Stir and serve.
- Add ice or honey if desired.
Cold preparation
For cold brew, steep the blend in water in the refrigerator for approximately 24 hours, then strain and serve.
