Hashara
Coffee Cherry Tea: Roasted and Spice-Scented
Hashara is a tea made from the dried skin of ripe red coffee cherries produced through the natural, or unwashed, coffee process. This version combines roasted cascara with ground cardamom, nutmeg, and cloves.
The described flavor profile includes orange peel, hibiscus, peach juice, grapefruit, honey, and lemon.
Hot preparation
- Use 10 grams of Hashara.
- Add 200 milliliters of water at approximately 96°C.
- Cover and steep for 6 minutes.
- Stir and serve.
- Add ice or honey if desired.
Cold preparation
Steep the mixture in cold water in the refrigerator for approximately 24 hours, then strain and serve.
