Gluhwein-ChocoMatagalpa Recipes

Recipes featuring Chocomatagalpa Gluhwein, a cocoa preparation flavored with aromatic Indian and Persian spices.

Hot Chocomatagalpa Gluhwein Shake

  1. Whisk 240 ml (8 fl oz) of hot milk or water with 3 tablespoons of Chocomatagalpa Gluhwein.
  2. Grate Vienna Chocolate with 72% cacao over the drink and serve.

Cold Chocomatagalpa Gluhwein Shake

  1. Blend 240 ml (8 fl oz) of milk with 3 tablespoons of Chocomatagalpa Gluhwein.
  2. Refrigerate for a couple of hours, then blend again. Alternatively, prepare the drink hot and let it cool, covered, in the refrigerator.
  3. Grate Vienna Chocolate with 72% cacao over the drink and serve.

Christmas Cookies

  1. Add a pinch of salt.
  2. Beat in the egg, add softened butter, and mix until a homogeneous dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough by hand.
  4. Shape it into a ball, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  5. Lightly flour a smooth surface and roll the dough to a thickness of about 5 mm.
  6. Cut with Christmas-themed cookie cutters and arrange on a baking-paper-lined tray.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15–20 minutes, until golden. Remove and cool.
  8. Once cold, decorate with chocolate and icing.

Chocolate Salame

Makes approximately 8 servings, with optional dried fruit, nuts, and 2 tablespoons of liquor.

  1. Beat 21 g (0.75 oz) of sugar into 170 g (1½ sticks) of butter.
  2. Add 1 whole egg and mix well, then add 1 egg yolk and mix again.
  3. Melt one 100 g tablet of Vienna Chocolate with 72% cacao over low heat and incorporate it into the butter mixture.
  4. Add 3 tablespoons of Chocomatagalpa Gluhwein.
  5. Add a preferred liqueur, such as amaretto, rum, or whiskey. Mix in cookies and optional nuts or walnuts.
  6. Place the mixture on paper, form it into a cylinder, and chill it in the freezer.
  7. When firm, unwrap it, transfer it to aluminum foil, roll again, and cut into slices.

Chocomatagalpa Gluhwein Cupcakes

Makes approximately 20 cupcakes.

Ingredients

  • 200 g Chocomatagalpa Gluhwein
  • 150 g butter
  • 16 g (½ oz) yeast
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 160 ml (5 fl oz) milk
  • Optional chopped fruit, such as apple or banana
  • Icing sugar and mint leaves for decoration

Method

  1. Combine the Chocomatagalpa Gluhwein and yeast in a bowl.
  2. Add melted butter and milk, then whisk well.
  3. Add the honey and eggs, stirring until thoroughly combined.
  4. Transfer the batter to a pastry bag and divide it among molds on a baking sheet. A bag with one corner cut off may also be used.
  5. If adding fruit, divide the chopped pieces among the molds.
  6. Fill each mold halfway and bake at 200°C for 15 minutes.
  7. Cool, dust with icing sugar, and decorate with mint leaves.

ChocoMatagalpa Gluhwein Cake

Ingredients

  • 340 g (3 sticks) butter
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 5 eggs
  • 600 g Chocomatagalpa Gluhwein
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and butter a 20 cm (8-inch) baking dish.
  2. Beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then mix in the vanilla.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Combine the Chocomatagalpa Gluhwein and baking powder in a medium bowl. Fold this mixture into the batter until incorporated.
  5. Pour into the prepared pan and bake for about 60 minutes, until the top is firm and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Check that the top is fully firm, since the center may remain undercooked even when a toothpick appears clean.

Mini ChocoMatagalpa Gluhwein Cakes

Ingredients

  • 113 g (1 stick) butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 200 g Chocomatagalpa Gluhwein
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and butter a 20 cm (8-inch) baking dish or suitable small molds.
  2. Beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then add the vanilla.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Combine the Chocomatagalpa Gluhwein and baking powder, then fold the mixture into the batter.
  5. Transfer to the prepared mold or molds and bake until the top is firm and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
